If you deal with large volumes of pallets comprising between 2 and 15 pallets of the same SKU then double deep racking represents the perfect, cost-effective storage option.

In this system pallets are stored two-deep for maximum density. Double Deep pallet packing uses forklifts with a double-reach mechanism installed to reach to the back of the racking to retrieve pallets stored in the second slot.

Because of the second slot, the needs for access aisles is reduced, allowing for more pallet racking to be installed.

Ideal For Multiple Pallets Of The Same SKU

For businesses that typically have multiple pallets of the same SKU, double deep pallet racking can be the perfect pallet storage option. Although selectivity is reduced slightly in a double deep situation, there’s minimal impact because the same SKUs are stored in front of each other.
